I was asking the Lord a lot of questions in prayer one day and the answer I got was unexpected. He told me that the one thing I need to know – is that I don’t need to know!
He went on to show me how a little child trusts His daddy to take care of him. The child really doesn’t need to know all the answers that his daddy knows to have peace. He just knows that his daddy can handle everything and that he cannot. He thinks his daddy has no limitations so the child is carefree.
When the child grows, he then sees the limitations that his earthly father has. So he transfers that thinking to His heavenly Father and starts to wonder if He will take care of everything for him.
For us, as adults, it is easy to trust our heavenly Father in good times. But in these times, although it is harder to do, it is more important than ever that we leave it in our heavenly Father’s hands, knowing that He will take care of us and any problems we may face. He loves us more than we could ever fathom.
He sees the small and alone, the weak or sick and He is with us. In His strength we are made strong. He knows our every need. Even in times when he seems so far away, when we can’t see or feel His Presence, He is there. He comes as soon as He hears us cry.
When we need to know the answers, He tells us great and mighty things which we know not. but there are other times, when we just don’t need to know.

Ev,
Thank you for sharing this important truth
It brings to mind the verse, “Be still, and know that I am God “ What great peace this brings to us no matter what is going on around us.
Blessings,
Linda

Thank you Linda for responding. I have been getting that verse a lot lately and even for others. God is trying to tell us something that in this crazy world, He is our loving Daddy who is always taking care of us – we don’t have to know everything or always have all the answers.

Hi Evelyn,
This is a lesson that can take us a long time to learn. When we reach the point of accepting that He is all-knowing and we are not, we can thank Him for giving us only what is good for us to know. What He does give should be our focus because of the riches to be revealed within it.
One of my favorites of your insightful blogs.
Love, Pat

Just before I read this blog something relevant to it happened to me. I was thinking (actually worrying) about future bills to pay. I sensed the Lord asking me, ‘What is it that you need?’. I sighed and answered truthfully, ‘Lord, You know what I need better than myself.’ Immediately I felt relieved. The what, how and the how much was on my dear Father’s heart already. What a great blog to confirm my trust in Him! May God bless you for your faithful help, dear Ev.

Hi Joanne,
Thank you for commenting and your encouragement! Yes, sometimes we just don’t need to know because the Lord has already done it for us! Psalm 139 has always been such a comfort to me – He scheduled each day of our lives and He knows the end from the beginning. Yes, He is our good Daddy!

Hi Ev,
I had a funny thought after reading this… “ignorance is bliss!” Maybe it’s funny or maybe it’s not, but I
did have a good chuckle. LOL! It’s kind of like “the more stuff we have, the more we have to take care of.”
Perhaps, the more we know the more we would have to worry about. LOL! Thanks Ev for His timely wisdom
and reminder that our time is in His hands…especially this EPIC TIME in our lives! Thank you again Ev, for
the blessing.
Speaking of blessings…I am reading a LIFETIME of LOVE during my devotions and the Lord
is beautifully speaking to my heart on so many things. I’ve just finished chapter 8 and I am savouring it,
as I don’t want it to end 🙂 !
Love, Kath

Thank you so much Kath! I had to laugh as well at your comparisons. I do think that the Lord protects us sometimes by just telling us what we need to know.
I am so glad that you are enjoying “A Lifetime of Love”. It has so much wisdom in it – not mine, the Lord’s – that everyone is telling me that they are underlining every sentence. It’s a great book for Bible study, or newlyweds, or marriage counseling – or anyone who wants a closer love relationship with the Lord. To God be the glory! I am just His pen.
Thanks again for your wonderful comments.

Thank you Maude for your kind words. I often find it hard not to know…..I think we as humans are curious by nature. BUT GOD knows what is best and sometimes it’s best for us not to know and just trust Him.
