Hello everyone!
I hope that you are keeping warm!
Yesterday I had what I call one of “Ev’s Escapades.” I needed an important piece of info and I couldn’t find it where it is always kept. I looked all over, in drawers, papers flying all over the place. I looked many times in each place, going through every piece of paper, with it not turning up. I was getting exasperated, knowing that I always keep it in the same spot.
Later in the evening, I looked again in an area I had already looked at – at least three times. Something kept drawing me back there. Lo and behold – there it was! It was there all along, and even though I saw it, it was face down, unrecognizable. Every time I noticed it before, I kept thinking I should turn it over, but did not think that was it. I sifted through every piece of paper, turned over each one – all except that one.
The Lord then started showing me that we see, but do we recognize? Just like the disciples on the road to Emmaus. The disciples saw Jesus, yet they didn’t recogize Him. He was right in front of their eyes all the while.
Not seeing the paper I was looking for was a prime example of how things can be right in front of us, yet we don’t see. How much do we miss that which the Lord is trying to show us? How many times is He answering our prayers, yet we don’t know it because it comes in a way different than we were picturing it?
I believe the Lord wants to show us much more than we “see.” Sometimes I can be so unobservant. I can get so focused that it becomes “tunnel vision.” It’s so easy to miss what the Lord is showing us. He wants to widen our horizons and show us the light, not only at the end of the tunnel, but all around it.
Happy New Year!
Blessings, Evelyn

This happens to me too. However; instead of getting frustrated I will think about the Lord trying to gain my attention and acknowledge Him in these situations. Another beautiful lesson that the Lord has given you to share, Ev. You are a blessing. Thank you. Love, Vicki

Dear Vicki,
You are doing so great in this! I was continuously asking the Lord to show me where it was – and He was! Finally as I stopped trying so hard, there it was. Thank God for second and third and fourth, and more chances to learn!
Blessings, Evelyn

Been there. Done that. Thanks for another “higher” way of looking at those little frustrations.

Dear Maude,
It’s so easy to look back and think I should have done that, or – what was I, or in this case, wasn’t I thinking! I hope that I can learn more each time until I get it right! Ask God first, think later. Thanks for responding.
Blessings, Evelyn
