Hello Everyone,
Has anyone besides me struggled to get through the “begets” in the Bible? It got me to thinking……..
I was thinking the other day about how much the Lord loves us and how His goodness blankets the earth. Every good and perfect gift comes from above. It comes down pure, clean and spotless. However the world is not pure and clean – our flesh is soiled – no one is perfect except Jesus. All come short – even the best person is flawed in some way. Thank God Jesus loved us enough to shed His Blood to wash us clean! Then when He looks at us, He sees us through his Blood – righteous, new and clean. No one can do this for themselves. No one is “good” enough, no one can “work” hard enough to be perfect. Jesus did this all for love.
Of course we should try the best we can to be and do good – but it’s the reason that matters. We do good – not because it will get us to heaven – it won’t. For it’s not what we do or have done – it’s what Jesus did on the cross. Then as we receive His gift, and we trust and believe in Him, we know His love.
As a result of His love for us, then we love Him, and want to please Him – not for works, but for love. Love gives. When He pours His love into us, then we pour love into others. Love flows. Love blesses. Works for works sake – don’t work! When works are done, they’re over. People forget works – they don’t forget love.
Love is contagious. Work is not. Work doesn’t have to love. But out of love comes good works. Jesus finished the work because of love.
The Bible has a lot of begets that we like to skip over. But there’s one kind of beget that’s simple – the “love begets.” I know many people who have gotten the “love begets” down. They take the time to be with the Lord and then have a heart to help others too. Then those helped will in turn help another and so on and so on.
It may be hard to go through all the begets in the Bible – but I really enjoy seeing the results of love begets. It’s multiplication at it’s best!

Well said, Evelyn! Especially where you said, “Love flows”! His love for us does indeed flow through us when we’re willing to open our hearts to others and obey His command to love. His love then becomes like a river and we overflow with it!
Dear Susie,
Thank you for responding! You are one of those people that God uses to show His love to others. I know that many people see His love in and through you.
Blessings, Evelyn
