Hello Everyone!
I can hardly believe it’s March already, but I can hardly wait for spring and the warm weather also. I’ve heard birds singing the last few days, so spring can’t be too far behind. I’ve even gotten reports of people seeing Robins.
It seems lately I’ve been hearing from a lot of people that have been going through trials and very unusual things happening – me included! To complicate matters, it seems things are speeding up and we have to get more done in less time. Maybe this is what the hamster in the cage feels like – spinning the wheels and not getting anywhere! I don’t know about you, but this of course makes me weary.
That old devil comes against us to try to make us think that the Lord must have forgotten us, or doesn’t love us, or is mad at us. What a lie! Those that love the Lord, are close to Him and are working for Him, are those that get attacked the most – simply because the devil wants them to believe that lie. Included in these attacks are those that are weak, exhausted or alone. This is the devil’s atrategy – tire them out and hit them when they’re down. Is this relating to anyone?
God’s Word says to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. (Ephesians 6:10) Notice it says His might – not our might. That means all we have to do is trust Him and we will overcome. Trust in His love – for it’s BECAUSE of His love that the devil thinks you’re worthy of his efforts to attack.
The Lord will never forget us. The Bible says, Can a mother forget her child? That may be so, but God will never forget us. (Isaiah 49:15) The secret – the weapon we have – is to hang on to His Word at all times and always to trust Him. Sometimes we just see in the flesh, think with our flesh and don’t really see what’s going on in the spirit. A theme of Lessons I learned from the Lord is that things in the spirit are opposite things of the flesh.
It’s not whether we seem to win the battle in the natural or not. We always win and overcome when we trust Him, love Him and don’t give up on Him when things don’t seem to be going our way in the battle.
When we do this, we are overcomers, a victor in the Lord’s eyes. For the battle is won with our heart.
Blessings, Evelyn
Thanks for another encouraging word, Evelyn. 🙂
Dear Maude,
Your response means a lot to me, as it is coming from such an accomplished poet! Thank you. To God be the glory! We can do nothing without Him.

Hi Evelyn,
Your words remind me of the scripture “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers us out of them all”. It is so true that we need to trust God and not look at things in the natural. This can be difficult, particularly for action-oriented people, who want to fix things (like me). I’ve learned that I can make things worse, use up my energy and burn out. I still need to remind myself to trust the Lord and His Word and follow not my own understanding. It’s an ongoing battle in these challenging times! Take care and be blessed. Barbara
Dear Barbara.
Thank you for responding. It’s so true – I think we all have to remind ourselves that God’s got it all under control. We all have that “fix it” desire in us – especially when it seems to be taking a long time. I’m still working on patience! I’ve gotten better, but I’m not “there” yet. I’m so glad that the Lord loves us and works out His best for us!
Blessings,
Evelyn
