With Pentecost just about here, I am thinking of the tongues of fire that rested on the heads of those in Acts 2. Holy Spirit came and then the fire spread among thousands. So many have been in a “dry” period this season, feeling much like dead wood – but dry wood catches fire more easily! All it takes is a spark.
God often speaks to me in poetry, and here is one about His fire.
The time is coming now
You’ll feel the sweat upon your brow
Then the heat will go down
To your toes, from your crown
You’ll feel the fire and the flame
Do great things, in My Name
To each one will come a spark
It will ignite as with dry bark
It will become one great fire
To consume the devil – he is a liar
The time is now so very near
When the flames shall appear
So rest now my dear one
The fire has almost begun

This Pentecost, let there be a great infilling of Holy Spirit, like in Acts, where tongues of fire will fall. Let Holy Spirit’s wind fan the flames, and the fires will spread throughout the nations. Let us get back that fire for the Lord! So strike a match, light the fire, and fan the flame!
