Hello Everyone,
I have been asking the Lord to reveal more of His love to me – I want so much more! I realize that many times we look for God’s love in how we “feel” – our emotions. Yes, we can feel His love and Presence that way. I love it when I can feel His love. But do we always recognize His love through those He uses to bless us? Sometimes we see the person and are so thankful for them – but it’s so much deeper. Can we see His heart and love working in and through them? They are His hands and feet. They are expressions of His love for us. How the Lord’s heart must be bursting with love for them when they demonstrate His love for others!
God shows His love and blesses us so often through others. I think of the people in Haiti, Sudan, the poor in this country, the flood victims all over the world. People came together to pray, help monetarily, give food and clothing – even help to build shelters. How God’s love shines through us when we help others.
Sometimes we don’t even realize how much we are a blessing to others – but the recipient notices. Even the smallest thing can make such a difference in a person’s life. A smile, a word of encouragement, checking up on someone who is alone – it all means so much more than we think. It may be such a small thing to us, but means so much to another.
Today, I am thanking God for my good neighbors who will come when it snows to clear my driveway. My neighbors are good examples of His love. I am so blessed to have them as friends. May they receive a double portion of blessings in return!
Blessings, Evelyn

All very true! I’ve found that God likes to use people for the work that He wants to do. He wants US to be part of what HE is doing. It’s a privelege; and it is usually the seemingly small things that are most often the big things.
The Holy Spirit speaks to us, Himself, but He also uses others. Everything He does is good!

Dear Pam,
Thank you for your insight and wisdom – it’s right on! I want the Lord to open the eyes of my understanding to see more of His hands in the everyday things.
Blessings, Evelyn

It’s sometimes amazing how much He uses people at just the right time as we need it. I pray He will use me more and more too, as He is using your dedication to bless us.
Thanks and blessings.

Dear Pat,
Thank you for your kind words. I think we all wish that we would be used more – but I also think that we don’t often realize how much we are already being used. Sometimes it’s just a smile or kind word that we do that seems so little but means so much to the receiver.
Blessings, Evelyn

Hi Ev. After reading your blog I’m reminded of a song I used to sing. “If you want to be great, in Gods kingdom, learn to be a servant of all”
We are an extension of God’s hands and we must, as God’s servant be willing to be used when called upon. Sometimes its easy to become self-centered and forget why were actually here, and thats to be “poured out” like a drink offering not only to other christians but to the world before us. We must also remember that the person you may be helping could be an “angel unaware”, imagine that!
We are to be ready in season and out of season as that Bible tells us.
Thank Ev.

Hi Jim and Judy,
Great response! I wonder how many “angels” we have come across and not even known it! You both are such good examples of people who are willing to be servants and help others and put others needs ahead of your own wishes. Thank you for your obedience to the Lord.
Blessings,
Evelyn
