Just the Way You Are

Hello Everyone,

If you’re like me, very often you’ll see your shortcomings.  This is not always a bad thing as there’s always room for improvement and we will not be “all there” until we get “up there!”   (See Chapter, “You’ve Come a Long Way Baby, But You’re Not There Yet” in Lessons I learned from the Lord.)  We sometimes look at others and see their “perfectness” and compare ourselves to them.

We think others may love the Lord more than we do, or have a bigger ministry that touches more lives, or pray better, or do more good for others, have a more tender heart, etc, etc.

Yet all the Lord wants is for us to be the way He created us to be – ourselves.  He does not want us to try to be like everyone else.  He loves us just the way we are.  In fact, being ourselves is the key.

For example, He created us to love Him in our own way, uniquely us.  We love Him the way we love HIm – the way He created us to love Him with our own personalities.  I think He loves watching us and the way we “tick”.   No one can love the same as another because everyone’s personalities are unique to them.  I think that’s what’s fascinating to the Lord about each one of us.

Being ourselves is what the Lord loves about us.  Each of us is special in our own way.  I think it must excite the Lord to see each one of us grow to be – exactly the way He made us!  All are precious in His sight.  Each one of us is very special to Him.  We always have been and always will be.  We are certainly not boring to Him!

So enjoy being you!  Enjoy your unique personality!  For He loves you – just the way you are.
