Hello everyone!
I had to travel somewhere that I had not been before, and even with the directions, managed to get lost. My husband would always tease me and say that my “polarity” must be reversed. Animals have this polarity that always gets them back home. We hear of dogs that were lost miles away from home, finding their way back. When Bill and I would go on vacation, I would always choose the wrong turn! We just had to laugh! Even at the mall, after coming out of the store, I would invariably go in the wrong direction. However, Bill always knew the right way. I was so glad he did! These days, a GPS system can help us find our way.
Sometimes, when we are at a crossroads in life, we wonder which way to turn. Decisions are not always a cut and dry clear choice. I have discovered, even in talking to people, that when it comes to making an important decision for ourselves, many find it more difficult deciding for themselves than knowing what a friend should do. I think that’s because we are too close to the situation emotionally. Sometimes we need to step back to take a look. God gave my husband a great talent in knowing what to do in every circumstance – even from the time we first met, he was a problem solver. He had God’s GPS.
I believe that the best GPS system is God’s direction. If we ask, He will tell us in which direction to go. God’s GPS does not make mistakes. New roads and changed exits are always kept up to date. I do not have to worry about malfunction of God’s GPS – yet I do have to have discernment to know His voice. I also have to let fear and worry go in order to hear correctly. This is not always easy for our flesh. For when we fear – we can’t hear! The devil gets his jollies putting fear on us so that we are confused as to what we need to do, or what road to take next.
So next time you are at a crossroads, plug in God’s GPS. Happy Journey!
Blessings, Evelyn
“When we fear we can’t hear”…that’s a “keeper” of a quote! Thanks for sharing. Reminded me of the scripture “His sheep know his voice” and Psalm 23.
Hi Desiree,
God gave me that scripture for one of the books and I have used it a lot when I do a TV interview or speaking engagement. It is easy for people to remember – including me!
I just praise the Lord for all the analogies He gives me – it’s the way I understand what He’s saying – and remember! There’s a lot of them in “Lessons I Learned From the Lord.” To God be the glory!
Thank you for your comment – we are His sheep and He longs to communicate with us. I am sooooo glad for that!
Blessings, Evelyn
