Hello Everyone,
It’s that time of the year when stores are filled with Valentine decorations, big red heart boxes of chocolates and red roses by the dozens. It’s time when lovers give their sweethearts a token of their love.
However, why is this show of love, just one day? My husband was one to bring home my favorite treats a few times a week – just because he would see them in the store and know that I loved them. At different times of the year, would be different treats. Easter would be those extra sweet chocolate eggs with the white and yellow inside, fall would bring candy corn, etc. And he would always bring me a dark chocolate bar when he saw that I had finished the last one. I loved it. Not so much for the candy or flowers that he would come home with, just because – but because I knew I was on his heart and mind.
It’s the same with Jesus. We don’t have to wait for a huge blessing to come our way as an expression of His love for us. If we open our eyes and ears, we can see all the little blessings He gives us every day. What about that great parking spot so that you didn’t have to walk far in the rain? Or that beautiful day of sunshine when you had a special day planned! Even getting a coupon for that favorite store where you saw those jeans!
He even sends us special friends that become His hands and feet to bless us and do such nice things for us. Acts of kindness that go above and beyond what someone would normally do. I am so blessed to have friends that do these things. When I see them, I’m really looking at the heart of God.
Know that Jesus loves you and cares about you. Start looking at all the blessings that usually go unnoticed and know that with Jesus – every day is Valentine’s Day!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Blessings, Evelyn
Dear Evelyn,
Your words made me think about all the times Jesus must come to us, filled with such excitement to bless us with His love gifts, particularly Himself, and we are either too distracted, busy, blind, or deaf to notice or receive them — how sad He must be. Thank you for reminding me of Jesus’ constant love for us, and the different ways that He expresses it. Just thinking about Jesus and how much He loves me makes me smile, and makes everything else fade away.
Yes, I think it’s time to spend every day with Jesus as Valentine’s Day. How exciting!!!!!
Since every day is Valentine’s Day, I want to take this time to say to you, “I love you, dear friend”. You, Evelyn, are one of the most treasured love gifts the Lord has given me. Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!! May Jesus give you extra special love blessings today and forever!
Loads of love and hugs and gratitude,
Sherry
Dear Sherry,
Thank you for taking the time to respond, and thank you for your kind words. God has blessed me with good friends, and you are one of them! I think that good friends are those that are just like Jesus – looking for ways to bless others in word and deed, to love others with Jesus’ heart, to be His hands and feet when needed. I pray that when people see me, they can see Him in me.
Blessings, Evelyn
Thank you for your beautiful words and love for Him.
Happy Valentines Day!
