Hello Everyone,
Have you ever realized that when you have joy, you accomplish a lot? Joy is the secret, for joy is the fuel that creates energy.
Joy is contagious too. Try laughing and others will laugh as well. The joy spills over to others and then they have energy too.
The Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our strength. have you noticed that when you have joy, you’re not tired or weary? That things in life don’t seem so overwhelming? You feel like you can conquer the world!
This is why the enemy wants to steal your joy. If you are tired or weary then you become prey that he can tackle easily.
In this world, there are many things to get us “down” and make us weary. Just as joy is contagious, so is anxiousness and weariness.
What do you want to catch? What do you want your spirit to feed on?
The cure for weariness isn’t just talking about it – just the opposite.
All the classes on weariness don’t accomplish anything except to focus on it. The more you try to not think about it, the more you do.
Just try not to think about something and see what happens!
So what’s the solution? Get around happy people. It’s easy to talk and instruct about joy – but that really accomplishes little. I have a wonderful pastor and his wife who radiate joy. It spills over to the whole congregation. No sermons on joy really needed.
There’s presence of joy. What a gift! What a blessing for the people.
Start thinking about all your blessings and be thankful. Then you’ll see that the joy of the Lord really is your strength!

I so agree, Evelyn! The joy of the Lord is indeed our strength! It is mine, and when I display it, I know it changes the atmosphere for others too! Thank you Jesus! And thanks Ev for reminding us where our focus should be when we feel weary!

Dear Susie,
Thank you so much for responding. It’s amazing how a smile or a kind word can change everything. Truly when we are filled with the joy of the Lord,
it is our strength and also gives strength to another. What I call a 2-fer!

The word Joy brings so many memories to mind. The blog that Evelyn wrote is one my own mother would have loved. Gladys life’s verse was Neh 8:1. The joy of the Lord is My Strength. In fact, the last song my mother sang to a nurse from her hospital bed shortly before going to Heaven, was ‘I Have the Joy, Joy, Joy Down in My Heart’.
Thank you Ev. Your writing surely shares the JOY of Jesus.
