Hello everyone!
Remember the old typewriters – the kind with the ribbons? If you made a typing mistake, a white ribbon could come up and correct it. Even before that, it was the good old hand erasers – and if you used them gently, it would not tear the paper! Now, just a backspace on the computer removes it easily. We can do-over a whole sentence with speed and ease.
How many times can we look back at our lives and wish we had a “do-over?” It could be something as big as wishing we would have chosen a different career – or as small as picking up the wrong item at the grocery store and having to go back again. Do-overs can be frustrating, and I think that most of us can say over the years we wish we would have done something different.
It’s my belief that God uses these “do-overs” to help us grow. Maybe He wants to give us an “attitude adjustment” – or maybe He uses them to build our faith to know that He works all things for our good. Maybe it is to put us back on the right path. The one He knows is best for us. Whatever needs “doing over” – it is to help us learn and grow strong in Him so that we can be the person He created us to be.
We, as humans. unfortunately learn from our mistakes and not our perfections! How great it would be to learn from doing everything perfectly! A baby falls down many times before he learns to walk. He gets many “do-overs” where he has to keep getting back up and trying again.
Thank God for do-overs! If it weren’t for them, who knows how our lives would turn out? As children playing games, we would often say – do-over! – when we did not do as well as we wanted to. We wanted another chance. Yet as adults, although we may not like the do-over, if we learn from each lesson – that’s called growth!
As long as we are growing and maturing in the Lord, we will have “growing pains.” However, just like parents are right there as their child learns to walk, so is Papa God there for us. He helps us and picks us up when we fall or go in the wrong direction – He gives us a do-over.
God doen’t expect perfection – just correction! I’m so glad God gives us do-overs. They turn mistakes – into maturity.
Blessings, Evelyn

Hi Desiree,
Thank you for your comment. God knows exactly what we need when we need it! He is so amazing. So often He will give me a word that I really need just at the right time. It lets you know that God is thinking of you and he loves you!

Thank you, Evelyn for this word that the Lord has impressed upon your heart. I am now thinking about my do-overs as chances to learn and grow in the Lord.

Dear Vicki
I’m always amazed at how the Lord turns everything for our good – even our mistakes. Wouldn’t it be great if we humans could learn and remember this BEFORE we allow the enemy to put the “guilties” on us? I’m still working on it!
