Desire Fans the Flames

Hello everyone,

Spring is in the air at last!  Not only have I seen a robin, but, oh dear – a groundhog!  Surely it must be spring.

I believe that we spark a light in the Lord that’s only meant for us alone.  Every time we please Him, it burns brighter and brighter.  Our flames will never go out because our desire for Him fans the flames.

As we love someone, our desire grows for them, then love grows, and so on and so on.  However we have to want and choose love with all our heart.  Then the heart grows bigger until we are filled with desire and love.

If we feed our heart with bitterness, envy, anger or jealousy, then the heart grows bigger with those things and crowds out love.  The good news is that love crowds out bitterness, envy, anger and jealousy too.

If we let our hearts be filled with love for the Lord and for others, we will see our hearts get bigger and our flames get brighter.  That’s when we will feel His warmth, peace and joy in our hearts.

It’s said that clothes make the man.  That may be true on the outside, but it’s really what you feed your heart that makes the true person.  Healthy food in the natural makes for a healthy body.  Healthy spiritual food makes for a healthy spirit.

Let’s fan the flame of our hearts with desire for the Lord and our hearts will be fed with love.
