Hello Everyone,
It seems that summer goes faster and faster every year. I hope you are enjoying it and having some fun and good family time!
I have heard so many people tell me that they have either gone through or are experiencing a season of disappointment, difficulties, or discouragement. We all go through these times – no one is immune. When I was feeling particularly lonely for those in my family that have gone to heaven, God was teaching me to praise in spite of how I felt.
Occasionally I have what I call “escapades.” These are funny things that although, while they are happening aren’t so funny, when I look back I can’t help but laugh at myself. Most of these occur when I am trying to fix or repair something in the house.
I had one of those escapades just recently while I was repairing something. It happened that at the same time, I was feeling lonely and sad. It was so funny I couldn’t stop laughing – and then praising the Lord for the good outcome. It was so funny that I could just imagine Jesus slapping His knee and laughing along with me. He does have a sense of humor. After all, the Bible tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength and indeed, laughter is the best medicine! My laughter caused a breakthrough and sadness left me. Every time of think of it, I start laughing all over again. When I tell others, they laugh too. Laughter is contagious.
When we’re sad, I believe it makes it difficult for the Lord to bless us, because when we’re sad we don’t expect blessings. Sadness produces and leads to unbelief. We are so focused on the problem, we can’t see the good things around us.
Believe even when things are going wrong. Believe even when you don’t feel like it. God’s word tells us to bless the Lord at all times – Psalm 34:1. That’s the key. Bless (praise) your way to Breakthrough.
When we are sad sacks, we sink deeper in the pit. However, when we praise, we’re lifted up out of it. Look what happened to Paul when he was in chains in jail. He praised and the chains fell off and he “broke out” of jail. Now that’s break through! I find that it’s hard to stay sad when I start singing.
Start praising and blessing the Lord, for the beget that’s not hard to get through is – Blessing Begets Breakthrough!
Blessings, Evelyn

Hi Ev,
Thank you for the wise words of encouragement!
I am reminded of Paul having become contented in ALL things! Boy, that’s a challenge! Philippians 4 vs 11
Have a blessed day!
Love, Kath
Dear Kath,
It sure is! We have to remember that the enemy wants to steal our joy, which is our strength. Itcertainly can be frustrating at times!
Blessings, Ev
