Hello Everyone!
Time is going by so fast that it’s hard to believe that Valentine’s Day is already upon us – that is until you go to the stores! Cards and candy, all with Be Mine on them are reminding us of the day. My husband always expressed his love for me several times a day – and I would express mine for him, but sadly in some households, the only expression of love for one another is on Valentine’s Day. The daily routines have become just that – so routine that it takes a special day to remind us to express our love.
Yet the Lord’s love for us is never crowded out by routine. Each day, if we aware, we can see the expressions of His love for us. That’s what He wants from us too. We have to make sure that we don’t let busyness, routine, or distractions get us in such a rut that we forget to show our love for Him.
It’s really not about what we DO for Him that shows Him how much we love Him. I think of Fiddler on the Roof and the song, “Do You Love Me?” The response is that, haven’t I done the cleaning, the cooking, etc, etc.? Yet isn’t that what many of us think? Don’t you know that I love you because I do this or that for you? I don’t have to acturally SAY IT, do I? Well, yes, we do.
We show the Lord our love, not by what we do, but by what we BE. We BE His Valentine by spending time with Him, talking to Him, telling Him we love Him – by our words and with our hearts.
Let’s tell Him more often. Let’s really BE His Valentine!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hi Evelyn,
It is so beautiful to know Jesus as the Lover of our souls . As the people in the world grieve and mourn when Valentine day comes around and they don’t have someone to celebrate it with , we have Him. It is so precious and priceless to know that we are so loved. I agree with you, we need to spend more time at His feet and express our unconditional love to Him.
In Him Behnaz
Dear Behnaz,
Thank you for responding. It’s so true. We can’t even begin to fathom His love for us. We can only think in human terms, but the Lord’s love is all encompassing, unconditional, and never ending. How wonderful to even think about! He loves us so much that the smallest expression of our love for Him melts His heart.
Blessings, Evelyn
